Steve Fusek was born and raised in West Allis, Wisconsin. In 1985, he graduated with an accounting degree from the University of Northern Colorado. It was then, that Steve Fusek began his prominent business career. Following graduation and receiving his CPA certificate he went to work for Touche Ross & Co. (Delloite & Touche) as a Senior Auditor. In 1989, he moved to Indianapolis to take an opportunity to become Manager of Business Operations for Dick Simon Racing, this was the start of his career in the popular Indy racing scene.
From 1992 through 2000 Steve moved up quickly in the racing industry. From operational positions with Walker Racing as its Team Coordinator to Vice President of Business Operations for PacWest Racing Group. His resposibilities included all financial operations, marketing, public relations, as well as sitting on the board of Championship Auto Racing Teams. During his stay with PacWest Steve was responsible for raising more than $40 million dollars in sponsorship revenue.
In 2001, Steve became Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the top sales and marketing position in the CART/Champ Car series. His responsibilities included sponsorship sales, series and event marketing, television production, advertising sales, and network television contracts.
In 2003, Steve Fusek began a new chapter, he decided to open a True Value Hardware store in downtown Indianapolis. Fusek’s True Value Hardware opened in June of 2004 and continues to grow. Now in its seventh year of business several other businesses have been born, including FTV Industrial, Ron's Home and Hardware, Toby's Tool Shed and Destination Paint to name a few.
Steve enjoys his time at home with his wife Sue. He continues to work on his golf game and still stays in touch with many of his former colleagues in motorsports. Some of his favorite times are spending time with any of his 12 nieces and nephews. Very often you will see them working in the retail store.

Steve’s father, Ron, played a very important role in everything his son accomplished, including the opening of Fusek’s True Value Hardware. Ron had always been very handy and the first to step up and take on any type of project that could possibly present itself to a homeowner.
Throughout Ron’s entire life he was known as a teacher and a coach, and as a child to Steve these qualities were always present in his father. Steve remembers his father spending hours working on cars or projects around the house with all three of his children. Ron was always present to hold the light or offer a third hand if needed. Steve gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from his father throughout the years and also inherited his desires to do things right the first time.
Fusek’s True Value Hardware was lucky enough to have Ron with them when they opened in June of 2004. He played a integral part in the success of the business and truly enjoyed helping and teaching each of his customers. He loved being a part of the family and that family included being a part of Fusek’s True Value Harware. Ron passed away in January of 2006, though missed dearly, his memory lives on in his family’s hearts and his family’s store.

Steve’s mother, Mary Fusek, has played an active role in the sucess of Fusek’s True Value Hardware. Mary is an incredibly knowledgable woman of hardware and really enjoys interacting with the customer’s of Fusek’s True Value.
Mary Fusek spends the majority of her time in Parker, Colorado with her two daughter’s families and her 6 grandchildren occupy most of her time these days. When she comes back to Indy every few months she will be the first one to greet you, as she is right back on the cash register with a smile on her face and a pleasant hello. Her family as well as Fusek’s True Value Hardware love to have her in town.
